Recycle Your Old Electronics & Join Our E-Waste Collection Program

Recycle

Recycling old, unused or discarded Technology and Computer Equipment is great way to help the Environment by avoiding Landfill. We separate plastics from metals, metals from ceramics, PVC coating from wire and everything is sent to ISO Certified (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, & R2:2013) downstream recyclers for further processing.

Re-Purpose

Whilst recycling is good and necessary, we believe finding new homes for items is way better, therefore where possible we would rather re-claim and re-purpose e-waste.

Collection Service

We offer a Reliable Collection Service and Responsible Disposal of your unwanted E-Waste and Tech items. We provide this service FREE of charge for local residents and businesses.

What is E-Waste?

E-Waste, or electronic waste, refers to discarded electronic devices and equipment such as computers, smartphones, televisions, and household appliances. This waste often contains hazardous materials like lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can be harmful to the environment and human health if not disposed of properly.

In Victoria, it’s estimated a total of 109,000 tonnes of e-waste was generated in 2015. It’s projected to increase by about 256,000 tonnes by 2035.

Why E-Waste Can't Go In The Bin!

In 2019 the Victorian Government banned e-waste in landfill. This ban requires all businesses to
assess their processes for handling and managing e-waste. It is also illegal to put e-waste in household rubbish bins headed for landfill.

Most e-waste contains hazardous materials. These can range from heavy metals such as lead, mercury, chemicals found in fridges like ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and flame retardants.

Even in small amounts, these dangerous chemicals can cause environmental contamination or fires in landfills. When millions of e-waste items are dumped in landfill or stored inappropriately, the situation becomes much more serious.

They can leach dangerous amounts of hazardous substances into our groundwater, soil and air. As these substances don’t break down easily, the result can be long term environmental pollution.

Since we offer free e-waste collection and cover all costs ourselves, please consider supporting our environmental mission with a donation to help keep this service going.
